Due to the high volume of International
Requests we have put together the following information in the hopes that we
may answer many of your questions and expedite our service to you. Please read
this section thoroughly before requesting a quote for product and freight costs.
All discussion and prices that we mention are based on U.S. Dollars. Check with
your bank for current exchange rates.
We no longer accept credit cards for International Orders . This includes orders which are to be shipped to an address within the U.S. or Canada but do not have a domestic billing address. Payment may be made by Wire Transfer or Western Union.
In order to quote freight to your
destination we will require the following:
1) your complete shipping address,
2) your telephone number
3) your preferred method of shipment.
Shipping internationally is generally
quite expensive. Rates and service quality vary greatly between different countries
and different carriers. We prefer to ship via DHL because we have a good track
record with them, enhanced shipping software, and better rates than with other
carriers.
The U.S. Postal service is the least
expensive of all carriers however you must keep the following in mind when shipping
via USPS. 1) Tracking is NOT available on International Shipments. 2) If your
package is lost, it may take as long as 6 months to 1 year to receive reimbursement.
If your package is lost you will not receive reimbursement until the carrier
pays your insurance claim!
The cost for a one pound shipment
to a preferred country generally starts at $75.00 with UPS, FedEx, and DHL.
Shipment rates are calculated based on destination, actual weight, and dimensional
weight. Insurance is calculated based on destination and total shipment value.
We assess a service fee for many shipments depending on the number and type
of documents required, this service fee will be included in your freight quote.
Shipments requiring no special documentation will generally have a very low
service fee ranging from $10.00 to $25.00. Shipments requiring special export
declarations or an SED will receive a higher service charge ranging from $50.00
to $100.00. A Shippers Export Declaration is required for most shipments over
$2,000.00 however this varies by country. When we ship your order it will be
insured for the full invoice amount and each item will be declared to it's full
value on the International Waybill. We will mark the product as Amateur Radio
Equipment or Supplies. Shipments to Canada via UPS will be a charged a customs
brokerage fee by UPS collected upon delivery. To avoid this, we recommend shipping
via DHL to Canada.
Under NO CIRCUMSTANCE will we forge
documents in order to reduce your customs charges! This includes marking the
package as a gift or repaired item.
We will always ship pursuant to U.S. Commerce regulations and Carrier instructions.
Your country may charge VAT, import fees, taxes, extra intra-country delivery
charges, or other charges not listed on your quote from us. Please check with
your customs officials and find out about these charges BEFORE placing your
order, you will be responsible for any charges imposed beyond the product cost
and freight charges. Certain carriers may charge a brokerage fee, please check with your carrier to see if a brokerage fee or other fee will be assessed, these fees are generally due when the package is delivered.
GigaParts ships to most countries
throughout the world however U.S. Law restricts shipment to certain countries,
if we cannot accommodate shipment to your country we will notify you. We ship
via UPS, DHL, FedEx, and the U.S. Postal Service with UPS being our preferred
method. International Shipments are very paperwork intensive. GigaParts uses
a streamlined system with each of our carriers in order to keep costs low and
provide expedient affordable service for our customers. International Orders
typically ship within 2-3 days once these conditions are met: 1) we have received
your payment in full, and 2) we have all of the product in stock to complete
your order.
GigaParts cannot reserve product
for you until we have received your payment. If you wish to have a specific
product reserved we may do so at our option if you send confirmation of your
wire transfer from your bank, please contact a salesperson for further details.

Q. Do you accept any forms of
payment other than a Wire Transfer?
A. Yes! We also accept Western Union.
If you would like to send payment via Western Union please contact us.
Q. What is a Wire Transfer and
how do I do one?
A. A wire transfer is an electronic
transfer of funds from your bank to ours. We will provide you with the necessary
information your bank needs to initiate the transfer. You will go to your bank
with the information we provide and send the funds, typically this takes only
five to ten minutes!
Q. How much does a wire transfer
cost?
A. You will need to check with your
bank to see what service charge they impose for International Funds transfers.
Usually this is around US$15.00 - US$35.00. You will also be required to pay
our incoming fee which is US$15.00, this will be included in the quote we give
you prior to your funds transfer. Please check with your bank to see if they
will use an intermediary bank for the funds transfer, some do and the intermediary
banks also charges a fee, usually $12.00 - $18.00. This amount will need to
be added to your total transfer. Remember to ALWAYS transfer is $USD U.S. Dollars.
Q. How long does a Wire Transfer
take?
A. Typically 4-10 business days.
