Great Rig - Love That Spectrum Scope!
Review by
My IC-7100 died, So, I replaced it w/ this unit. I never had a unit with a spectrum scope b4. Didn't think I wud use it, but I love it because I can see who is doing CW and where they are in the band. Then, I switch frequencies by touch. Functionally, this is a 7100 with a color screen and a scope, so the transition for me was easy!

GREAT RIG FOR NEW HAM
Review by
I tested this rig out at field day and was easy to operate and has great filtering. I would recommend this to a new ham that wants a HF rig. I love the recipe and got great audio reports.

Best first choice
Review by
My first venture into HF and for the money I am not sorry for the choice. I have easy setup, and a menu I can navigate.system that is so straight-forward that it's actually fun to operate. The audio is clear, I am mostly listening. Nice sized screen gives you all your information at a glance. I'm using an MFJ-5Vr slop-per. If are on a budget, this is the radio that will give you all the frequencies with plenty of power at a very comfortable cost.

Great All-Around Radio
Review by
After a 20-year hiatus, started back on HF. My old ICOM IC-735 went toes up, so I cast about for a replacement. The 7300 had great reviews so I bought one. Not sorry. The rig's menu structure is easy to navigate, the screen is plenty big enough, plenty of features, good sensitivity and audio reports are always good. It does not take a lot of real estate on the desktop. Interfaced with an automatic tuner (the on-board tuner is limited to 3:1 SWR) I can use the limited antennas I have due to homeowner restrictions. No trouble reaching out. Not sure how ICOM could improve on this radio, unless it is to reduce the price.

Getting Old
Review by
The Yaesu 710 blows this radio's receiver away.

I owned 3 of the 7300 and 2 years ago they were awesome buy its time for Icom to step up with a new model.

Great Radio at a Great Price
Review by
My first venture into HF / 6m and I don't think that I could have picked a better radio than the IC-7300. Easy setup, and a menu system that is so straight-forward that it's actually fun to operate. The touchscreen is simple to use, and the sound quality is powerful and clear. Nice sized screen gives you all your information at a glance. I'm using a Chameleon Portable Antenna and picking up stations from Europe and Canada with no problems. Sure, you can get radios with more bells and whistles but if you are working on a budget, this is the radio that will give you all the frequencies with plenty of power at a very nice price. Sure, it's an 'older' model, but to me that means you have a proven winner that is still competitive with all the higher priced models. I plan to have this one for years to come!

Fantastic radio
Review by
I bought this as my first brand new hf radio. I came from a used Kenwood TS-430S. Many many years apart but the receiver is lightyears ahead of the 430. It does not have HF/VHF/UHF capability like the Yaesu FT-991A but still does what I need to it do.
