You will read many reviews that the fan in this radio is very loud. This is not true. Mine is very quiet. It has nice power, and the transmit/receive audio is excellent. I'm amazed at the difference of owning a high quality radio makes. I'm sold on Yeasu. The 3100R is a bargain.
