I had a SG230 at the base of the 26ft mast feeding an inverted V OCF through a 450 ohms ladder line. Worked very well with some drawbacks.
1. I am running mostly QRP and the SG230 needs more power than available to tune.
2. The SG230 is slow in tuning. Old technology.
3. it rarely tunes 1:1, mostly 1.5 and on some frequencies it did not tune below 2.4:1
4. it needs a local 12v power.
The Chameleon tunes at the very low power of a few watts. It tunes fast in only a few seconds even on new frequencies.
With the URT 1 I don't need the extra boxes to bring power to the URT 1 it is all included.
Also, the "Tune" button on the control box is so smooth that I can push the button without holding the box.
It is much lighter weight than the SG230 but still too heavy to mount at the top of the mast but that's ok as
it tunes at all bands at 1.0:1 to 1.3:1.
And it is build like a thank, no plastic here.
Is there anything negative I found? Yes, a minor one. The wing-bolt on the bottom is very difficult to install when closed to the ground.
A bolt on the case and a wing nut would have been better. I am going to replace it with a threaded rod with a lock nut and a wing nut.
A great product.
