Great little stand alone tuner

Got this for my FT8 assembly. Works great for a 100-watt station. Smooth dials, self-explanatory knobs. Will also use for FD as there is no power requirement. (Only if you want to see it in the dark). Have other Comet products and have never been disappointed.

Good Quality Good Value Works Well

Having a combined meter and tuner for barefoot operation under 300W makes this a great value.
Controls are smooth and this dials in my home brew dipoles with ease.
The only small points I would like to make is that the meter backlight is not very bright, nor does it have any adjustability. In normal ambient overhead light, the backlight is hard to detect. Fit, finish, and packaging quality were perfect.

Works well but some issues.

I almost sent it back. The BOX was in perfect shape as it was shipped in another box, and there was a nicely formed bubble bag around the entire device that struck me as a great idea. Then I noticed two pieces of black plastic that turned out to be about an inch of the edge of the X-tune knob. How is that possible? Then I couldn't get it to work correctly and I decided to send it back. While disconnecting the coax I noticed that the connector for antenna 1 was loose. I reconnected to antenna 2 and it worked fine. The proper star washer and correct torque spec for those antenna connectors would work WAY better than big blobs of solder that didn't wick from the retaining nuts to the back panel at all because it was too cold. And the tiny little light at the bottom of the meter isn't worth connecting the power for, you still need to use a flashlight to read it. But it tunes very well.
