Antenna works great, tripod not so much

I've bought this combo so that I could do some POTA activations but so far used it in my backyard during FD. The antenna has worked out great. The tripod is functional but the clamp that sets the legs in place is junk. It's plastic and overtightening even slightly pulls the brass threaded piece out. Ridiculous. I pulled them out and drilled a hole into the tripod so that I can use a pin to lock it into place.
