This kit costs so much because they send you a new front panel that has a DB25 on the back side. You remove the front panel on the radio, and swap it for a cover that has the mating DB25. The cable is crazy big, and has two separate cables that are roughly 1/4" each, that have a large connector on each end that mates with the DB25 on the radio, and head.
