The MAT-30 automatic antenna tuner is designed for seamless integration with Yaesu transceivers. Depending on the radio model, it connects to either the CAT/LINEAR or LIN/TUN port on the rear panel and is controlled via the radio’s front panel using the supplied interface cable. The tuner receives 12 VDC power directly from the transceiver through this connection.
The mAT-30 offers automatic tuning across the entire HF band plus 6 meters, handling up to 120 watts (limited to 100 watts above 50 MHz). It can tune a wide range of coax-fed antennas, including dipoles, verticals, Yagis, and long wires. Its impedance matching range of 5 to 1500 ohms greatly surpasses the capabilities of most built-in tuners. With 16,000 frequency memories, it provides instant recall of previous settings.
Yaesu radios compatible with the FC-30, FC-40, and FC-50 external tuners also work with the mAT-30. Supported models include FT-100D, FT-857/D, FT-897/D, FT-450/D, FT-891, FT-950, FT-991, FT-991A, FTDX-1200, and FTDX-3000. The tuner boasts a high-quality build, featuring a machined black oxide aluminum case and premium multi-layer circuit boards.
