The Minisforum UM870 Slim is a compact and powerful mini desktop PC designed for a versatile range of tasks, from demanding productivity and content creation to casual gaming and multimedia consumption. Its "Slim" moniker reflects its efficient use of space, making it a great choice for tight setups or those looking to minimize clutter without sacrificing performance.
At its core, the UM870 Slim features the AMD Ryzen 7 8745H processor. This 8-core, 16-thread APU (Accelerated Processing Unit) provides robust multi-tasking capabilities and high performance for complex computations. Graphics are handled by the integrated AMD Radeon 780M, a highly capable iGPU based on the RDNA3 architecture. The Radeon 780M supports ultra-high-definition image quality with multiple display outputs, including HDMI 2.1 (up to 8K@60Hz/4K@120Hz), DisplayPort 1.4 (up to 4K@120Hz/240Hz), and USB4 (up to 8K@60Hz), making it suitable for professional work and immersive entertainment.
The system comes equipped with 32GB of ultra-fast DDR5-5600 RAM, ensuring smooth multitasking and efficient handling of memory-intensive applications. Storage is provided by a 1TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD, offering lightning-fast boot times and rapid data access. For networking, it features a 2.5GbE LAN port for wired connections, along with Wi-Fi 6E (802.11ax) and Bluetooth 5.3 for robust wireless connectivity. The mini PC runs on Windows 11 Pro, providing a secure and feature-rich operating environment.
Connectivity options are plentiful, including USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A ports, USB 2.0 Type-A ports, a USB4 port (supporting Alt Mode for display and power delivery), and a 3.5mm combo audio jack. Despite its compact size (approximately 130 x 126.5 x 50.4 mm and weighing around 0.67 kg), the UM870 Slim delivers impressive performance while maintaining efficient cooling and relatively low noise levels under typical loads.
