Palstar DL2K 2000 Watt Dummy Load

I had a typo in my review and I meant to say that the DL2K is actually rated for "60 seconds at 2000 watts" and not 90 seconds.

After quite a bit of use since my initial review, I must say I really like the DL2K and it's worth the money!

The Palstar DL2K dummy load works great. Worthy of note is that the power meter has been updated from prior versions of this dummy load and the meter now has ranges of 0 to 500 watts and 0 to 2500 watts. The meter was accurate as far as I could tell when I compared it to the readings on my Mercury IIIs amplifier. There is a switch for the fan and I left it off because the fan is a little noisy and it will automatically turn on anyway if it's necessary to cool things down. I repeatedly ran about 1000 watts into this dummy load for 10 to 20 seconds at a time while adjusting my transceiver's power output on different bands and the fan never came on. By the way, despite the GigaParts' description of its being capable of handling 2000 watts for 90 seconds, the Palstar rating is actually 2000 watts for 90 seconds. Overall, this dummy load is well constructed and performs perfectly.
