Used to use one with an Icom IC-718, and it worked great, however, with the Alinco DX-SR8T it works sort of funny, in that it will tune automatically once, but sometimes I need to turn it off, then back on to tune again. If I press the Tune button on the Alinco, it either doesn't work, and gets hung up in the tune mode, or hung up for sometime, then it may stop, but then it sends QRO I think it is, and the only way tune seems to work fairly reliably, is to press and hold the Tune button on the 939, then key the DX-SR8T, then release the 939's Tune button, and actually, the SWR would only get down to around 1:1.8 or 1:1.7:1, until I turned the REF pot in the 939 just a little clockwise, now the SWR gets down to just about 1:1.1:1 and sometimes almost flat SWR. The 939 acts like the amount of power that the DX-SR8T puts out when pressing the Tune button on the transceiver, isn't enough, so I use the AM position and key up. However, sometimes when pressing the PTT a second time, the SWR goes back up, like losing the tuned part, and it won't tune again until cycling the power. However, going into the SSB mode after tuning up in the AM mode seems to work OK, just staying in the AM mode seems to cause the 939 to lose the tuned setting or something, and it won't tune again until I cycle the power on the 939.
