Arrow Antenna Open Stub Dual Band J-Pole OSJ146/440TPE

I installed this antenna inside my attic and did a side by side test of the OSJ against a magnetic mount 19 inch Nagoya UT-72 using a Comet CAA-500II antenna analyzer. I made sure that there was no metal above the mounting point. Here are the results:

OSJ 1.2 - 1.3 SWR
Nagoya 1.8 - 2.3 SWR

OSJ 1.0 - 1.9 SWR
Nagoya 1.25 - 2.7 SWR

I am taking away one star as I had to tap one of the 3/8 inch holes to get the antenna to thread into the mounting plate without using grease on the threads. In all fairness, the instructions do say to put a small amount of grease on the threads before assembly. I wanted to avoid grease on the metal contact points to maximize conductance.

This model, the ELC, comes with a threaded two piece 57 1/2 inch element for increased portability.

Bought this several weeks ago, (~ first Aug,. '17). Have used it for a while and am very happy with it's performance. This antenna is very well built; solid aluminum and ss hardware. There are those who don't like J-Poles and that's fine, but if you want a strong performer, with dual band performance, buy this antenna from GigaParts. The price is very reasonable for how well it's made.
And GigaParts has a very customer oriented staff.
