Righteous SIGNAL GAINER antenna
Review by
ShooterJim
I bought this antenna to replace a non-name-brand mag mount that was pretty awful. 30 miles away from a repeater that can be heard 225 miles away, that antenna was no good.
Enter the SUPER GAINER 7500 - obviously, this antenna would blow the junky mag-mount out of the water, and it did, as expected.
BUT, I was able to hit the repeater 66 miles away in a compromised location - a low-lying parking lot with a variety of 2 story builds all around it, and definitely no chance of a line-of-sight to the repeater. Well, to my surprise, and much joy ensued afterwards, the SG-7500 performed very well - of course there was some degradation, but I had several responses to my 'signal check' saying that my audio was quite clear, fairly strong, and just some scratch/crackle, but totally readable.
So, that covers the longest distance I've used it on so far, but also, the whole drive up from my home to my destination the antenna was outstanding. I usually stop at a Love's truck stop on this drive and grab a cup of coffee and make a pit stop, so to speak. Well, I've never been able to hit the repeater from that area due to a bunch of metal buildings strewn all around 4 different truck stops. Suffice it to say, the SG-7500 smashed through, with some noise/scratch/crackle, but fully readable - and, received similarly. Once I departed that pool of truck stops, I never had a bad signal, even in low lying parts of I-5 in Sacramento where the elevation drops to below sea level surrounded by huge sound walls.
I mounted the antenna on a Diamond K-400S antenna mount on the left edge of the trunk lid on my Dodge Intrepid. It is a solid performer so far, easy to install.

OK, there you go... Enjoy!
