Heil Sound FS-3

I ordered the foot switch from Heil since I already have a Mic and Headphones and they appear to be quality products. However, Heil sure did not engineer the foot switch to the same standard. It is simply a tin box with a rivet over some bent tabs, not even a hinged joint. This product is a piece of junk and not worth the price I paid. If anyone desires a quality switch it is not this one, look elsewhere for a better, and more robust switch. I was able to find a better on in my closet with another mic I had previously purchased from another company. Should have looked sooner. Heil went all the way up to cheap to add it to their product line. I was disappointed. If GigaParts had any sense they should delete this item from their catalog.

Great for contesting. I like using it without my shoe, for better feel and relaxing operation.

I have not used a foot paddle in years. I have always wanted. A Kenwood TL 922A. I finally bought one. But the voltage on it will work with my - Icom Pro 2. Even with the “MFJ 704 buffer. Voltage surge back thru it, into the radio. So I went to this “Heil Foot Switch “, problem solved. Johnnie / Lawtey, FL.

Never used a foot switch, but tried in major contest. Sped up the response time to a call, and no ptt hassle. Does slide on a rug, but that fix is simple. Allowed full keyboard use of hands.

I was unsure if I would like using a foot switch as my PTT. But I wanted my hands free to log and adjust the radio. So far it has been an easy transition to the foot switch. Very well made and plugs right in.
