Hy-Gain HF Beam, TriBand, 10/15/20M, 3-Elements - TH-3JRS

I've got 78 DXCC countries in a short period of time with this lightweight little antenna. I must say, it's cheaply built, especially the boom to mast bracket, and the traps. The bracket is stamped spring, SS metal that is not precision. I had to ask for another because the bolt holes were not in the correct place and interfered with the bolt heads. 2 of the 15 meter traps were missing when I got my antenna and I eventually had to send it back for a replacement from GigaParts. It took 7 weeks to resolve this issue. Now, about 6 months later, the 10 meter band is not usable because of high VSWR. I think one or more of the 10 meter traps is burned up. My 811A amp only has 500 watts, so this can't be the problem. The 10 meter portion of the antenna had higher that I wanted VSWR when I first put this antenna up. It was flat around 27.800Mhz and @28.030 it was 1.3:1,, and above 28.600Mhz it was not useable even though my measurements were checked by me and 2 other people. I wanted it to be at it's best on the phone bands. I am about to contact Hy-Gain to see what they can do about replacing my traps or sending me a new antenna. When I tried to get them to send new 15 meter traps for the 2 that were missing, they were useless. Like I said, I had to sent the whole antenna back to Gigaparts for a replacement antenna.

I would NOT recommend this antenna to anyone. It's cheaply made, doesn't stand up for very long, and Hy-Gains customer service is terrible. I can say, that Gigaparts customer service stepped up when I couldn't get results from Hy-Gain.
