One of my sons got me this and the 9:1 balun. I've used the 1:1 on pota activations in line with an end-fed. It dropped the noise floor considerably! I've used them together to create my own random wires and efhw. LDG provides instructions on how to create them. Get some cheap wire from big box store and use these to experiment - for the price, they can't be beat.
