Nice alternative, check before using

I ordered this with a new radio. Fortunately, I tested it and noticed a problem before connecting it to the radio. Turns out there was a dead short at the rings connected to the coax at the mount. I didn't want to wait any longer to use it, so instead of trying to get it replaced, a ham friend and I modified it and it's now working great.
