Excellent PS at a low price!

I purchased the Yaesu-branded FP-1023 switching power supply as the source of power for my new Yaesu FT-3185 2m transceiver. Not only is it a nice "fit," but the power supply puts out a solid 23-amps of nicely filtered 13.8VDC. The FT-3185 draws 15-amps at 85W, so there's plenty of room...the supply barely breaks a sweat. And the price is low compared to similarly spec'd Samlex 23-amp power supplies. I highly recommend.

This PSU is a match for the FT2900r/FT2980r transceivers. I've been using one on a FT2900r for two years on a daily basis and no noise or other problems in that time. This unit appears to be well designed and it works well. It is just a plug and play power supply without any controls or meters, but it gets the job done without any RF hash or other artifact. There is no fan, so no fan noise, like the rigs it is designed to power. If you want a quiet and solid performing rig, this is what you need.
