I bought an SM-30 when I bought an IC -9700. I have been receiving excellent reports on audio quality ever since. One friend who is a retired broadcast engineer said my signal was commercial quality! That motivated me to try the SM-30 with my IC-7300. Again, excellent audio quality was reported. For a few weeks I manually switched the SM-30 between the two rigs, but Murphy’s Law held true. It was always connected to the other rig when I heard some prime DX, so I have purchased a second SM-30. No more mic swapping!

Getting nothing but huge compliments on the audio quality of the SM-30. Set mic gain at approx. 60% with compression on, booming, clear audio. Very pleased

Nice little microphone with gooseneck adjustment. However, I wish the cable was coiled rather than straight. I personally don’t need that length when the radio and microphone are right next to each other and in front of me.
