This powerbox works perfectly for my ICOM 5100. I can power the radio all day and charge or run other devices at the same time. It has all the ports I need to connect everything. Its lightweight and portable, with a solid box. I was going to build my own battery box (like this one) but I found it cheaper and less hassle to just buy this instead. When you add up all the parts, it costs more to build it yourself. This comes with a charger that fits inside the box, it has a red light when charging that turns green when fully charged. It doesn't take long to charge up and it lasts a long time. I added a shoulder strap to it, so now i can carry more stuff with fewer trips to the Jeep. My plan is to buy another one - one could be charging while the other is in use providing 24hr coverage. I'm not sure how long the charge lasts as I haven't used it long enough to get to that point; kindof like your cars gas gauge - how far can you go? You can use this box for powering all kinds of stuff, so it proves very useful when outdoors.

The charger as delivered is an RF Firehose. Opened up the case to find that there is an open spot on the pcb for an omitted capacitor across the transformer. Installed a .0022uf 400v safety capacitor ..... and wah-la..... quiet as a mouse.

Shaking my head that they would let a few cents get in the way of this being a complete homerun product.

I use it to power my Yaesu FTM500 and it does a fantastic job day after day. Got a car full of sensors and computers? Don't want to push thru the firewall? this the answer apx 7 days running the rig without charge. NO RF noise. But The Flashlight LEDs will not light. Is There A fix for this?

The unit is Awesome. I have no complaints other than the included charger outputs a ton of RF. To the point of 10 over 9 on my HF rig. You would think that a company that somewhat targets amateur radio would do better than that. I would buy again for sure... Just keep in mind not to charge it when trying to use your HF rig.
