No documentation anywhere

I get the current trend to ship without user manuals, but there should be a web link to something describing what you're getting and how to put it together. There isn't. I did find a video showing a partly assembled unit from a different manufacturer, which taught me something. Requires a fair amount of assembly; good practice for soldering, I guess. How is the 7x7 matrix wired, or is it? Might be an interesting project some day, but not what I was looking for.
