Description
The new BB7V multiband vertical antenna provides coverage from 2 MHz to 30 MHz
without radials and requires the use of a tuner. In its nested configuration it is only 60” long and weighs in at 4.5 pounds. It has 6 telescoping sections that extend to a length of 22 feet when fully deployed. The telescoping sections are self locking (no hardware to lose) and can be raised or lowered in less than a minute. For permanent use the sections can be locked in place with a single screw per section. The extreme ease of raising and lowering this antenna will make it a favorite for those who have antenna restrictions or travelers wanting a quick and easy wide band antenna solution. The BB7V is a very slim, low profile antenna.

Works very well
Review byPhil
I have this mounted on a wooden deck with the bottom of the antenna about 4'AGL. I tried it with both 1/4 wave and then with random length counterpoises and compared that to just the antenna without counterpoises There was no improvement in SWR so I am using this antenna without any counterpoise or grounds and it works really well with 25' of RG-213 and no choke at the rig. It is fast and easy to deploy and take down this antenna and is very well made.

Works great
Review bymusicman
I had this on a tripod about 3 ft above the ground and it did good talking local and long distance at night. I called to ask Diamond if I put a counterpose down on the ground how much it would help.
The tech told me that this antenna was designed to work at 23 to 25 feet no counterpose needed. I changed the height and man what a difference. I actually talked on 20m from Washington to Indianapolis speedway for the Indy 500 and checked in during the middle of the day and got a 5.8 with a 100 watt Yaesu FT 450D.
So, that is the way to run it if you can. Yes I would buy another one.

Works better than expected
Review byFred
Bottom of can sits 6in from ground. Ok not the best but from east coast of NC have worked from Dallas to Connecticut to Fl Keys with 57 as low, Cuba contest at a 59. Of course I'm working with a Kenwood 440s I've had for 30 years.

Nope, don't go there

it's crazy but you would be better off with an antenna mounted to your car that requires different traps for each meter that you want to use. I had this antenna at 1,750 feet looking over the tops of mountains mounted 25 feet in the air and I could only hear about three people on a net that covers Oregon, Washington and California. My friend with his antenna that requires changing cans for every meter, could hear about 70 % of all the people and made contact for the net which could not hear me. We both have the same radio and he was about 7 ft above his truck and my antenna was 25 feet in the air which the antenna is made for. I am highly disappointed. Ease of use is great, tuning is excellent on all bands but if you cant hear or they cant hear you, what's the use. I am a diamond man. Three 2/440 magnet mounts on my vehicles and a HT510xd on my house, love them all, but not this one.
