Overall
Much better than expected!
Review by Chris
I got the buying bug from reading July QST review. Have owned almost a week now and managed to use a lot of features already. Was a bit worried based on some negative reviews given the price. I am really enjoying it!

First off, I am finding it quite sensitive (despite others' comments), especially on HF, even with solar flux only around 80 last week. This is the only radio I have been able to easily receive HF signals (ham bands) on using only the equipped antenna from INSIDE -- truly armchair copy from my LR -- no need for active antennas, cable runs to the window or outside antenna, etc.

Second, it has many great features. It's got 2000 memory channels across 100 groups (geesh, I am storing everything!) and linkable programmed searches. Searches can auto-write memories upon hits and a voice control squelch helps skip past noisy freqs. Excel can be used to manage the memories. Recording and playback are very nice. The remote control software is quite good. It can be used while also connecting the radio to a remote speaker or earphone on Bluetooth (which is otherwise not very flexible, as others noted). I was surprised I could easily hear my local P25 800 Mhz trunked radio despite it lacking trunk tracking capability. Can be set-up to scan based on GPS location (e.g., go on vacation and set to hear just nearby local stations not out of area home stations).

Third, it is enjoyable to use. The menus and buttons are quite intuitive. I found little use for the manual besides looking up finer points and terms. Nice included drop-in charger can be used as a stand (unplug power input). Lightweight, but not a cheap feel. Big knob (not a split pair which I hate on my Kenwood THF6) for either volume/squelch or freq/menu changes. CW copy is very good, even during Field Day 2021, despite not having a real narrow audio filter. SSB is also quite good.

Just a few dislikes so far: Dual-jointed antenna (a neat idea) swivels easily so can't set it on angle. Speaker volume and tone are just OK. Limited to storing only one linked search. Radio and accessories seem overpriced.
