AA-1614 Series Extruded V-Clamp Mobile Antenna Mounts: Robust Support for Your On-The-Go Antennas
Intellitron: "Expertly Built, Economically Priced"
The AA-1614 series of antenna mounts provides a heavy-duty, versatile solution for securing your mobile antennas to various support pipes. Available in two distinct models, the AA-1614T and AA-1614S, both feature an exceptionally strong extruded V-clamp design, engineered to deliver a powerful, torque-resistant grip on support pipes, ensuring your antenna stays secure even on rough terrain or at highway speeds.
These robust mounts are ideal for deploying "Hamstick" style HF monobanders, lightweight multi-band antennas, and full-size 1/4-wave whips. The V-clamp system is compatible with pipe diameters ranging from 5/8-inch to 1-inch OD, offering broad mounting flexibility. Built with heavy-duty extruded aluminum clamps and secured by four 10-mm stainless steel bolts, the AA-1614 series is designed for lasting durability in demanding mobile environments.
Important Mounting Considerations:
Before installation, always inspect your chosen mounting pipe to ensure it can adequately support your antenna under all expected conditions. To prevent damage, avoid overtightening the clamp bolts. We recommend an initial "shakedown" run, followed by a check and re-tightening of all hardware as needed to maintain optimal security. While a 14-mm wrench is ideal for installation, a 9/16-inch wrench can also be used.
Choose the right AA-1614 model for your antenna's connection type:
- AA-1614T (Standard 3/8-24 Antenna Connection): This model features a standard 3/8x24 stud mount connector at the base of the antenna connection point. It's the perfect choice for most "Hamstick" type HF monobanders, spring mounts, and other antennas designed with a 3/8x24 male thread.
- AA-1614S (SO-239 Antenna Connection): This model comes equipped with an SO-239 connector at the antenna's base connection point. It is ideal for antennas that have a UHF Male (PL-259) base, allowing for a direct, secure coaxial connection between the antenna and the mount. It also comes with 17ft of coax, terminated in PL-259.
Both the AA-1614T and AA-1614S models feature a reliable SO-239 feedline connection for your coaxial cable back to your radio.
