I chatted with Harry about replacing my cross needle meter with a digital one. He guided me to the Intellitron wm1001d. I took his excellent advice and I am very pleased with this meter. Easy to set up and use. The large digital readout are easy to see. No more moving my head around to view crossed needles. An excellent addition to my station. K3GIL

Rugged Watt / SWR Meter

This is a rugged Digital SWR / Watt meter it withstood a little abuse. The abuse was an operator error, connected transceiver to the antenna port and the antenna to the transceiver port. Still working after correcting the operator error, yes, a rugged Digital SWR / Watt meter. Like the large display, very nice and it holds the reading long enough to read between transmissions.

Needs a much longer power cable

I'm not very happy with the purchase. This device REQUIRES power to operate. The power cable provided is MAX 3' long with the DC plug on one side and the clipped end on the other. I find this TOTALLY unacceptable. I believe at least it should come with a 6' cord or longer or in the best world a DC plugin adapter. The instructions don't even provide what the requirements for such an adapter would be.
I know the meter will work but I will need to add quite a bit of cable to the provided one for me to hook it up and test it. Personally for $200 it should come ready to go for just about any situation.
