A few patio blocks under the legs make for a stable vertical mount. Put some guy wires on the antenna and it's really stable as a permanent base. My only problem was assembly. Some of the holes didn't match up with the hand screws and I jury rigged an fastener to keep the mast extended !! Otherwise I'd use it again if the need arose.
