Popular Science by Celestron SkyMaster binocular is the ideal choice for the amateur astronomer or anyone that observes at great distances. With the smartphone adapter, you can capture anything you see in the binocular and share the images and video with friends and family instantly.
Massive Objective Lenses
The 60mm objective lenses have excellent light gathering capabilities, delivering superior low light performance, even in the dimmest conditions. Choose Popular Science by Celestron SkyMaster for use at dusk, dawn, and for nighttime astronomical viewing.
Coatings and Prisms
The Popular Science by Celestron SkyMaster binocular features multi-coated optics. What’s more, the prisms inside the binocular are made of high quality BaK-4 glass so that more light is reflected off their internal faces and passes through to the eye. Taken together, the multi-coated lenses and BaK-4 prisms maximize light transmission for remarkably bright, highly detailed images.
The Body
A durable housing protects your SkyMaster binocular from damage without weighing you down. Viewing through the SkyMaster binocular is comfortable for both eyeglass wearers and non-eyeglass wearers, thanks to the foldable rubber eyecup. The 21mm of eye relief allows for comfortable viewing for both eyeglass and non-eyeglass wearers. Eyeglass wearers can see the entire field of view while looking through the eyepiece with their glasses on by folding the eyecup down. For those that do not wear eyeglasses, the rubber eyecup positions the user’s eye behind the eyepiece at the correct distance for optimal viewing.
Digiscoping is Easy with the Celestron Smartphone Adapter and Bluetooth Remote
Share your greatest discoveries with friends and family by pairing the SkyMaster binocular with the included smartphone adapter. This accessory connects any smartphone to the SkyMaster eyepiece (or any other eyepiece with an outside diameter of 45mm or smaller, such as a spotting scope or telescope eyepiece).
The eyepiece’s magnification bumps up the image scale, so you can capture stunning images of wildlife, distant objects, and even the Moon at night! This light, rigid smartphone adapter installs in seconds by clamping over the top of the eyepiece. Tighten the knobs to securely lock your phone in place. (Note: Some large and/or excessively bulky phone cases, including folio style cases, may need to be removed for the phone to fit in the adapter.
Celestron has also provided a Bluetooth shutter release that allows you to trigger the camera’s shutter on any Android or iOS smartphone remotely, without disturbing the placement of the phone or binocular.
Ways to Observe
The Popular Science by Celestron SkyMaster binocular is tripod-adaptable, so you can use a binocular tripod adapter (not included) to mount it on any standard photographic tripod or monopod for extended viewing or digiscoping (photography through the eyepiece). If you combine the SkyMaster with the Celestron RSR Binocular Tripod Adapter, you can also add a red-dot finderscope. When properly aligned with the binocular, the red-dot finder will help you accurately point your binocular at celestial objects in seconds.
