Had Ver1 for years...never could get it to run correctly. Virtually no support from ICOM! After
reading about the "Main Features" of Ver 2, especially the part that stated "enlarged display
of the panel, etc." Wasn't sure what etc covered.
Installed really easy..don't plan on using remotely, just on the PC. I was able to "enlarge" the main
panel by about 2 inches all the way around...HOWEVER..the Spectrum Scope/Waterfall
is not scalable! Vertically it works fine but the width
is still limited to about 4.5 inches...not much bigger than the main display on the IC-7300....that was
very disappointing. That's what I get for assuming
that the scope and waterfall could be enlarged!!
Won't make that mistake again..done with RS-BA1.
Just understand fully what your getting before you
drop $149.00....better programs out there IMHO!

I received the Version 2 software yesterday and was going to wait to install as I was not sure if it was going to take a long time to configure. After a few hours of looking at the software, being a typical ham :-). It got the best of me. I put in the cd software and held my breath and to my amazement the software installed right over my Version one with no problem. Icom has a winner here and when I first ran the program I was amazed to see the whole radio with complete access in front of me on my laptop The colors are bright and easy to navigate. the dual waterfall works seamless on my 7610 and monitoring 2 bands at once easy to do.
Anyway I just have installed this product less than 24 hours ago and have a lot more to learn.
Bottom Line: Great value, Buy the software

I have been using the RS-BA1 since the beginning of this year. In the beginning I found that the soft ware was very difficult to get everything talking to each other. I mounted the RS-BA1 on my lap top and once going the fun started. The very first on-air report was that the station I was talking to could not tell if I was on my IC-7610 using my Heil PR-781 or using my remote headset (19.95) through my lap top. Icom has figured out how to interface their software with their equipment through the internet. There is a very slight delay when going from transmit to receive. Next thing I found that the filtering on the software expands the radio filtering. You can record and playback (the 7610 will not do that as a stand alone radio) And the usual things like changing antennas control of power out among other cool features as well. BOTTOM LINE IT WORKS GREAT. Pain in the rear to get going but well worth it. I spend a lot of time in the front room looking at TV and talking remote via my lap top. NOW Comes the RS-BA1 Version 2 have not received it yet but please do a search on it and it will amaze you all. Don't forget to buy from Sue at Gigaparts as she has been a great help. OK the new software gives you complete access to the twin receivers. This includes 2 waterfalls that all you have to do is click on a signal and you are there. Welcome to the 21st Century and hope you enjoy the program as much as I have. On a side note. I have said that accessing your radio via computer is a waste of time. NOT SO, Turns out, it is really cool. and will work via my smart phone "Hot Spot" with out a hitch. This is all true and I only described the "Tip of the Iceberg"
Imagine anywhere your phone works, and a lap top, You can transmit like you are in front of your radio in your shack.
