I have had one now for 7 years. I use it on my FT-60, FT-1, FT-2 and FT-70 and it works like a charm. Doesn't sound great but it isn't made by Bose.

Terrible sound quality.

Terrible sound quality; worse than the radio itself. Get the Yaesu SSM-63A VOX Headset instead, which is great. (Read all the instructions on the SSM-63A to make sure you realize you have to have it plugged in before you use it.)
