This balun is specifically designed to eliminate common-mode RF current that propagates down the outside of your coax shield. This unwanted "third wire" can cause a host of problems, including distorting your audio, altering microprocessor settings, causing equipment failures, and even delivering painful RF burns on transmit. On receive, it can introduce local RFI that masks weak signals, knocking out DX communication. The AA-3918 ensures your transmitter power stays on the antenna where it belongs.
