I've gotten pretty good at making my own cables and these crimp on connectors are some of my favorites! RG-8x is low-loss compared to RG-58 and is still very flexible. The great part about these is you can make whatever length of cable you require. These N-connectors allow you to make custom cables that can avoid losses from excess cable length and losses from using adapters. These N-connectors also have a good impedance match above 500 MHz, although at that point you need to keep the RG-8x jumper length as short as possible.
