Excellent Antennas

I use these in two different configurations (Vertical spike mount or Dipole on a 15 foot mast) and they work well. In the ground mount I have 8 10 foot counterpoise wires which is great for lowering the SWR. I get around 1:1.2 on all of them and have no problems getting out. In the Dipole configuration they work better and get good distance. I get good sound reports using the IC-705. I did have to trim the 20 meter stick because the center frequency I wanted to use was too low in the base and caused high SWR, but cutting a few inches off did the trick. I recommend these for anyone that wants a quick portable setup at a low cost.

They are easily mounted and work almost as well as any single element antenna.

I have used dipoles and a 3 ele tribander for years. Got hamsticks 4 years ago and use them as verticals, horizontal and vertical dipoles, and multiples on a plate for a multiband wspr station. I have always found them to be within 1 db on both xmit and receive to various Websdrs all over US and Australia against EFHW's , full sized verticals and dipoles and even a Magloop which did poorly. For mobile, base or most anything the Hamsticks are awesome as verts or dipoles. As a vertical they get a bit more noise but just lay it more as a horizontal and be surprised.

I ordered the standard 5 antenna set in December. Not the mini, but standard size. I started working with them a couple of days ago and realized that only the 80m and 40m had the 48 inch antenna. Everything I've read indicates that when you buy them individually, the whip is 48 inches on all 5 antennas, if purchased individually. Apparently not so in the 5 pack. They very carefully dance around that problem here in the description. On top of that, the 20m, 15m and 10m all had tuning problems with the short whip they included. Really disappointed that I expected the 5 pack to be the same antennas at a bulk discount.
