Great Little Radio

I love the size of this radio and the fact that the speaker is on the front and has I think 3W output to it! I drive a pickup and can appreciate that touch.

Right out of the box this radio was pretty easy to program and start to talk! The one section of the manual that shows the menu items was the only helpful part of the manual!

Who writes these manuals?!? The only people who can figure out what is being told a user is the author! I had to engage YouTube and other users just to even think about getting on to Wires-X, which was not at all communicated in this manual!

Great radio, well worth the $220! Keep the radio and use the manual as a coaster.

As usual, Giga Parts was the greatest and the order sailed right on through!

I've had this for about a month now and it runs fantastic. It does everything I need it to do. The display is very simple, but gives everything needed for digital use. The only thing I wish it had is a physical squelch control. I'm not crazy about having to go into the menu to adjust the squelch. For the price and performance though, I am learning to live with that.

This is my first radio. It was easy to program w/o software. I have owned it for little over 4 month now and never had a issue with it. Works great on C4FM and Wires-X. If you are looking for a dual band radio for best bang for the buck, get this one.

So far this has been a great little radio. I just got it installed in my truck. It's small, but heavy. Menu is easy and intuitive. My only complaint is the wire size of the power cord that is sent with the system seems inadequate. I found, via online research, that it should be 12AWG for my install. The wire that came with the system is 16AWG. So I replaced that with my own wire, fuses, and connectors all 10AWG. Also, I would love to have an option to have the system automatically turn on when my truck turns on, which it doesn't do. But all else is good. Looking forward to using it more.

I have enjoyed this rig with no complaints. It can be programmed from the front but it’s well worth the money to get the programming software and cable.

I downloaded both the Owners manual and Advanced Manual from the Yaesu website. I was able to program the entire radio in one night. The manuals had issues: mispellings, poor grammar, missing "How-Tos" However, with God's guidance, I could easily overcome all the issues. With the features this radio has, with the dual band AND C4FM, at this price, it's a fantastic value. I've read many, many, many reviews on this radio. Many were of personal taste. Many failed to study the manuals. Many did not work to resolve what they considered issues. Some didn't like the speaker. Some thought it has a great speaker. I never used the internal speaker. I have a big 4" external with a heavy magnet. I've also received excellent signal reports. Everything works great!
