The AM-2133M may look like a competing 33-foot product, but we’ve made it much stronger by removing the two flimsy top sections. Then, to restore the original 33-foot height, we added two robust sections to the base. As a result, the AM-2133M measures 5/8-inch OD at its tip (vs. 1/16-inch OD), and a solid 2-inches OD at its base. How It Works

The AM-2133M and most other ultralight collapsible masts work the same way. Each section is tapered to be slightly larger in diameter at the bottom than at the top. When a similar but smaller tube is inserted, it slides through easily until its large end binds against the small end of the tube below. A special coating applied to the mating ends provides extra grip for friction-locking tubes together.

INSTALLATION TIPS

Always use care when securing light-weight fiberglass masts to supporting structures. Avoid using rigid metal clamps that could crush and damage sections. Our warranty does not cover damage from improper mounting.
Always make sure the base of the mast is secured against "kicking out" before attempting to raise.

Important Warning: To ensure user safety and maximum load handling capability, telescoping masts must be guyed. Even a well-balanced load may tumble in a wind gust or inadvertent tug on the mast if left un-guyed!

The 10 sections design allows for ease of transport, carrying, and set-up. Ideal for fast setup as the top end point of my 71 foot wire non resonant sloper (9:1 unun a the bottom) 80 to 10 band end fed antenna.

The 5/8 top section for this mast is much beefier then other 33 foot masts of the fiberglass telescoping design. If your hanging a loop or dipole and you want the full 33 feet instead of having to use a lower section of other 33 foot mast making your intended height lower, then here is the solution! robust top sections that will support a wire antenna without Drooping!

This is how these twist/friction lock fiberglass masts should be. Well constructed with a usable top section. Supports a rotatable 28MHz dipole at full height with one set of guys. Good size and weight for portable and temporary set ups. The available guy rings work great as well.

Very well built and the tip is strong enough to hold the dipole center.
Note that the base is a little wider than most of these things. In the case, the drive on flag base is a tiny bit too small.
That's okay, I'd rather have the fatter base.

Obviously, these folks understood the shortcomings of the mast. The openly discussed the need for the change, adapted a reasonable modification and overcame the main obstacle to the goal. This mast is awesome! Its small, strong, flexible.
The best part.... it's REASONABLY priced!
Being vertically challenged should no longer be an acceptable limitation.
I'm looking to purchase a second before everyone else discovers this gem.
