Overall
great mast for POTA
Review by N0USY
This is my go-to mast for POTA with an EFHW. It packs up small and light so it fits my backpack well. Highly recommended!

Ideal Backcountry or Summit Mast
Review by Alex
Extremely lightweight and compact while still being rigid enough to support an EFHW antenna. It’s the ideal mast for carrying into the backcountry or up to a summit. It’s a permanent part of my manportable HF kit.

Got it on sale and its worth it
Review by Josh
Strong, locks together well. Strong enough to hold my EFHW without bending. Small enough to fit in my backpack.

Pefect Solution
Review by Roscopc
My other mast is way too whippy with even a small unun attached at the top. This mast is much more rigid and remains very light and easy to pack.... love it!

Great Addition
Review by MDME
I've had this mast for a while now and have only used it twice in that time. Like many reviewers have said, I really appreciate its size and weight. It's also quite durable being made of carbon fiber. I also like the ring as the top end and how the cap slips over the ring to make extending the top section easier.
I have set up mine by drilling a hole in the end-cap and securing it with para card (to keep from losing the cap) and wrapping the top section with electrical tape and a hose clamp. The hose clamp secures the leash to the end-cap and 3 para cord loops to attach guy ropes.

I can deploy both an EFHW and a roll-up J-pole simultaneously if I want to. This is definitely a nice addition to any kit. I would recommend this item to anyone who wanted a nice mast for their set up.

A perfect backpack mast
Review by VE3AVP
Small enough to fit in a backpack but sturdy enough to hold a 65ft long wire in the air this mast is perfect for the ultralight backpacker or the air traveler. Surprisingly small when collapsed I can keep this mast with me when walking around the city then deploys easily in those small urban parks without getting unwanted attention. I have the 33ft HD mast which is incredible in it's own right but it too big for some deployments. The secret to the 20 ft mast isn't to use it on it's own, but to use it to "thread" the antenna wire from branch to branch in the trees.

Great POTA Mast
Review by Art / K0ACP
I have several other masts, so this was a total luxury purchase. It is feather-lite weight and sturdier than the fiberglass masts. I use it for EFHW so antenna wire is running away at an angle, but holy smokes, it is so light and sturdy, plus the short size allows me to take it on trips and fit it in my overnight case. Really an awesome addition to my antenna parts toolkit. My only regret is that it wasn't available with I bought my first mast :-) ....

Great mast
Review by KC3VLN
Very light weight and easy to deploy. It does need some additional support if you are using heavier cables like potaflex. But all in all a great product!!!

Awesome POTA/SOTA Mast
Review by SB
I wanted something as small as possible, and this mast does not disappoint! I was very impressed with the quality from the first time I extended the mast. Sturdy enough to be basically flat with nothing on it while held horizontally. Adding some type of 'ground rod' or 'ground spike' is an ESSENTIAL bit of kit you will want to include with this mast. HamRadioDude on Etsy sells a very mechanically sound version. I'd avoid the 2-inch spikes you see on other stores, just so you don't run into too much leverage/pressure on the bottom segment.

Anyway, I was worried my EFHW would be too 'NVIS" with only 20-feet of height, but that's simply not true. I can smash Europe on 5 watts with a 67 foot EFHW running as an inverted-V. I use tent-stakes to keep the ends of the wire in place.

Super light-weight portable option here. Highly recommend. It's expensive, but well-made.
