The ftdx 3000 has a tendency to get a glitch from time to time in the computer software. The frequency display will be out and it will not transmit. The yaesu tech said it was rf but sometimes it happens when I first turn it on so that's not the problem. Sometimes the only way to clear the problem is to reset the radio which I do not like doing because I lose all of my settings. I'm disappointed in the rig and wish I had bought something different.

I love my new FTDX-3000. The new technology is foreign to me at my advanced age but I have everything up and running. Enjoying the FT8. I've found nothing about the fig that I do not like. I've made contacts on SSB, CW and FT8. It works very well with the ALS-606S and both my LSD 600 autotuner and MFJ-362D manual tuner. I may not live long enough to master all the available features but I'll die trying.

I've had my FTdx 3000 for two weeks and find its performance comparable with the best Yaesu has to offer. Great filtration, many features, outstanding SSB receive audio, and good performance in the digital modes. Its almost an FTdx 5000 at a fraction of the price.

I purchased my FTDX3000d from GigaParts in 2013, when it cost a LOT more, as an upgrade from a FT950. This rig works great with Ham Radio Deluxe and other programs using only a single USB cable to the PC. If you prefer to use other external interfaces (such as RigBlaster of SignaLink) there is also a 6 pin Data jack, even RS232 jack is available so you can use legacy hardware. In the time I have owned this rig, Yaesu has released several product improvements as firmware upgrades (these can also be installed over that same USB cable.) Other reasons to consider this radio are the 9MHz IF output, narrow crystal filters, three antenna ports, and the CW/RTTY/PSK decoder (very useful for casual contesters like me who can't actually copy CW at 35wpm without a little help from the radio.) No it's not an SDR radio, but it's a lot of bang for the buck at the current price.

Excellent radio with great receive and transmit audio. Electrical surge from a lightning strike took out the main CPU and various other components, Yaesu covered all the cost of the repair under their three year warranty. Radio was returned in new condition. Would not hesitate to buy again.. More features than I will ever use. You cannot beat the quality for the price.

I purchased this radio to replace my FT1000d that developed problems that could not be fixed due to age and lack of parts. I have always considered the 1000d one of the best all time radios but it has lost its standing to the FT3000D. The receiver is unbelievably sensitive and the transmit audio when paired with the MD-100a8x desk microphone consistently gets "your audio is outstanding" reports. It is rare that a very weak station cannot hear me. The radio is easy to learn and use. I haven't begun to explore all the possibilities of this radio because there isn't enough time in the day. What is especially handy is that it has both RS232c and USB 2.0 support on the radio, plus up to three antenna connections. I highly recommend this radio as a mid price range radio that performs as a top of the line radio!

What a wonderful radio, price and features there is no other radio that compares! From the digital noise filtering to CW 300 roofing filter - wow!
